DIY: Christmas Decor

DIY: Christmas Decor

Hello again!

And it’s second day into December, how are you feeling? I’m still very excited about Christmas, and so I decided to do some DIY and they are super easy make.

First DIY is part of my post yesterday, with poster that you can cross out Sleeps until Christmas, I want to add something extra and this is totally optional. What you will need are?

  • The poster “Sleeps until Christmas”
  • Christmas ornaments of your choice
  • Hot Glue
  • Card board
  • String
  • Hold puncher

Stick poster onto cardboard and use hot glue to stick on the ornaments to decorate. To finish off, punch 2 holes on top and put strings through holes to hang up.

Second DIY is creating your own throw, things you will need are:

  • Patterns of your choice (you can google for Christmas patterns, I have also insert some of the patterns that I used here).
  • Paper knife or xacto knife (which can be easier to cut out pattern but I don’t have one so I just used paper cutter)
  • PVC sheet? (I’m not sure how to call it but something that will prevent you from cutting through the paper and onto the floor)
  • Tape
  • White acrylic paint  (I couldn’t get my hands on fabric paint so I opt for this one)
  • Plain pillow cases ( I chose to go with color blue and red, but you can use any color you want; better yet if you can recycle your old pillow)
  • Sponge paint applicator
  1. Place pattern paper on PVC sheet, and use cutting knife to cut the pattern following the outlines.
  2. Once you’re done, place your pattern onto pillow, position how you want, I just simply place them in the middle. When you’re happy with where you want the pattern to be, tape them down (make sure paper are flat out as much as you can)
  3. Use sponge to apply paint onto the pattern, don’t be afraid to get paint on the paper because you will need to cover all the outlines. I applied about 3 coats to ensure the paint cover the pattern completely, but you can apply depending how you want the pattern to look.

And you’re done!

Here are the patterns you can download! (they’re all set in A3 size but you can print them in A4, just know that the pattern will come out smaller than the picture).
